Barry Hall called the meeting to order at 12:00 PM. Introductions were made of all members and guests.
Lunch was provided by Speedway. Derrick Foward was there to inform us of the “Sample Speedway Program” available to all businesses.
Amber Rose handed out a Newsleter from the Salvation Army. She reminded us of Family Picnic Night scheduled for Thursday, July 30th from 5-8 PM and encouraged all of us to participate. Jerry Boling from McCook Neighborhood Association gave us an update of some meetings in the near future. On April 25th, there will be an “Ohioans for Health and Environmental Issues Town Hall Meeting. See Jerry for more information if interested in attending.
Barry gave us an update on our Community Awareness Program and will be updating our list of “Persons of Interest”. He also was concerned about the River Commons area. He was informed that maybe it is not crime free but rather people were just not informing police of illegal activities.
Barry also asked members if it was okay for GONDBA to write PowerNet a Letter of Recommendation. The member voted by show of hands to approve.
Barry let us know that former member Gary Shaft just had a stroke, but is doing okay. GONDBA is interested in doing another directory and would like to have Gary get the list of businesses from the Library. The members voted yes.
Crystal Bohse is our new GONDBA rep and will be recruiting for new members and making sure the current member reactivate their membership for the new year.
Our guest speaker was Gary Leitzell, candidate for Mayor/City of Dayton. He gave us some of his background and some new ideas he had for the City of Dayton. Then answered questions from the members.
