GONDBA Meeting Minutes July 23, 2008 Networking began at 11:30 AM with lunch from Louis Chicken Wings supplied by Genuine Auto Parts. Yum Yum! A big thanks to Max Williams and Phil. Vice President Gary Peck conducted the meeting in Barry Hall’s absence. GONDBA donated a $100 gift card from Lowes to the Dayton Police Athletic League so that they could get supplies needed. Amber Rose from the Salvation Army/Kiser school reminded us of the Community Picnic on July 24, 2008 from 5-8 PM. There was still room for booths and could also use some volunteers. Tammy Czarzasty from Baskets of Sunshine gave us a little background on her company and how they give baskets filled with pampering items for the entire family to departing guests of Ronald McDonald House. She would be happy to take donations from any interested parties. Sergeant Mike McCune gave us an update. The crime statistics are still down for the area. Chris Mills got another continuance. There was a burglary at UDF, they were caught. Three new recruits started on July 14. It will be another year before we get any more. Jerry Arndts gave us an update on the new GONDBA website. There are 5 sponsors and have room for 5 more sponsors. Sponsorship only costs $10 per month. Send any local news or website suggestions to Jerry so that he can post it on the website. Gary Peck spoke of his recent tour (with other GONDBA members) through the Monday Program Facility. He was very impressed. The tour lasted about 2 hours and they were able to sit down and talk with residents. Our guest speaker was Nicole Swisher of ProTelHR. She spoke to us about some Human Resource issues we should all be more aware of. It was very informative and thought provoking. We might have another opportunity to hear from her in the fall. Gary Peck informed us that GONDBA has been reinstated with the State of Ohio thanks to the efforts of Sedaly, Shillito & Dyer. Meeting was adjourned. Next meeting will be August 27, 2008.
