GONDBA Meeting Minutes

September 24, 2008

Networking started at 11:30 AM with lunch supplied by Clean City Janitor Service, thank you.

The meeting started at 12:00 PM with introductions.

A presentation was made by Vice President Gary Peck to Lyons Electrical Supply, received by Al Lyons, for being our featured member. Lyons Electrical has an impeccably kept grounds, has been instrumental in monitoring neighbors and has been a GONDBA supporter for many years.

Amber Rose let us know that the Kroc Center construction is moving forward. Also that Trunk or Treat is October 30^,2008 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM. She is looking for volunteers and sponsors. She also spoke to us regarding Issue #52 which is a Levy for the Dayton Public Schools, she is looking for volunteers and our votes.

Lt. Varner gave us an update on Community Awareness. As of this date there had been 73 Part A crimes vs. 126 last year. Those are basically auto thefts and residential burglaries. He also let us know that officers are contacting victims of crimes to do a security assessment. Or you can call 333.1290.

Jerry Arndts gave us an update on our GONDBA website. He has updated our most wanted on the Community Awareness section and also added a Featured Business section which this month will feature Lyons Electrical. We also now have a link on ActiveDayton.com. Please submit your e-mail addresses and website addresses to he can get them added to the site.

Barry Hall gave us an update of River Commons. It has been one year and there have been very few incidences and has made no negative impact to our neighborhood.

Then we heard from the Honorable Frances E. McGee, Incumbent Montgomery County Common Please Court Judge. She gave us a little bit of her background and then opened the floor to our questions.
